If you’re ever stuck and looking for God — try a parking lot. Somehow, between cars whizzing by and people moving to and from the store, I have transcendent moments. A belief in the good of our universe. A reminder that our lives matter. That the beauty of the Earth is symbiotic with the beauty that is humanity.

What if working hard wasn’t about sunup to sundown, but about the actual attention and effort that goes into it? Working hard is more about overcoming fear, paying attention, and allowing yourself to be vulnerable. It’s about risk and recalibrating, growing and thinking, and making progress. Maybe we need to redefine working hard so it’s not about working exhausted. It’s about working with intention.

What if that woman on the call isn’t your enemy? What if she’s just another woman in corporate, desperately trying to claim a significance the system never freely gave her? And what if you are doing the same? The problem is not women competing with each other. The problem is a system that taught us there was only room for one of us to shine.
